Position Title: Laboratory Phlebotomist

Department:Laboratory
Position Description: Performs venipunctures and skin punctures competently and expediently. Has thorough knowledge of test requirements. Assists in the lab as as needed. Responsibilities include bleeding time tests, blood cultures and blood samples. Applicant must have the following experience: Eighty hours of training in the proper procedures to be employed in the performance of venipuncture and skin punctures un the supervision of the Lab Director.

    Qualifications:
    Education:High School Diploma or GED required
    Special Skills:Basic computer knowledge required
    Physical Requirements:Stand; walk; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, grasp, or feel objects, tools, or control; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk; use of hands and foot control repetitively. The employee is required to hear alarms on equipment, client call, and instructions from physicians/department staff.
    License Required:Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification required

    All applicants must include a copy of their HS diploma, GED or transcripts, and current BLS certification if required. Any other certifications that apply for this position when applications are turned in.
