Position Title: Medical Assistant

Department:Physician Office
Position Description: Performs and accurately records screening tests. Participates in patient counseling and education activities related to health care maintenance. Documents necessary information on patients medical history, including copies of all referrals. Must posses ability to room and maintain patient flow, update the practice accounting system and medical record with all necessary clinical information for each patient in compliance with JCAHO standards. Must be able to administer oral and injectable medications and immunizations. Medical terminology, pre-authorization experience, and knowledge of sterile technique a plus.

    Qualifications:
    Education:Must have high school diploma or GED
    Experience:Basic computer knowledge
    Special Skills:Strong computer & comunucations skills are a must. Motivation to strive for excellence. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve. Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and phone skills. Ability to follow written and oral instructions and take direction well. Ability to exercise good judgement and composure in dealing with patients.
    Physical Requirements:Sitting for prolong periods of time. Occasionally lift 10 pounds. Must be able to type and use computer. Ability to distinguish telephone rings, to hear and speak clearly. Read and write. Regularly needs to bend, stoop, and reach.

    All applicants must include a copy of their HS diploma , GED or transcripts when applications are turned in.
