ICU Patient Care Tech(Full-Time)(Rotating Shifts)

Job Summary:
- Provides direct and indirect patient care in the ICU setting including being a sitter for 1:1 patients
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including geriatric, and general population.
- Assists nurses with patients on the unit, stocking supplies in patient rooms, providing water, getting rooms prepared for admits, placing patients on monitor, obtaining VS, and Finger Stick blood glucose.
- Performs unit secretarial duties.
- Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff, and medical staff.
- Initiates directions from physicians and nursing staff.
- Participates in quality improvement activities.
- Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and facility policies, procedures and standards.
- Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization.
- Remains flexible to changing systems.
- Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits.
- Treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect.
Skill/Education Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent Required
- Current BLS Certification Required
- Currently enrolled in Nursing Program (preferred)
