Ultrasonographer - Diagnostic Services / Radiology Department

Job Summary
- Performs quality ultrasound examinations.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology sufficient to be able to position and monitor patients and obtain appropriate images.
- Skills in interpreting and applying written guidelines, precedents, and work practices to standardized work situations or specific cases.
- Skill in using ultrasound equipment. Understands and can reasonably troubleshoot all necessary equipment and ensures notification of appropriate personnel when problems occur.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with other employees.
- Ensures the integrity of data for clinic elements, demographics, billing information for physician reports.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements/Skills
- Sonography education, training, and experience in the specialty area(s) to be performed. Ultrasound experience in general (breast, vascular, and obstetrics imaging). Demonstrated competence in the specialty area(s) to be performed.
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART), and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Proficiency with computer skills and software programs used for documentation activities and report generation required.
- Ability to perform other duties is a plus (CT, MRI, Gen Rad, etc.)
- Knowledge of how to address age-specific care needs of patients.
- Preferably 1 year of professional work experience in performing ultrasound imaging studies. Must be comfortable working independently.
